Born: 1961 in Enniskillen, N. Ireland.
Resident in Enniskillen since 1990.
Occupation: Director of computer distribution company.
Hobbies: Family, fishing, writing and playing football.
First published in 1998 by Coch-y-Bonddu Books in a compilation hardback called ‘Saltwater Flyfishing in Europe’, Alan has also authored ‘Flyfishing for Big Pike’, which was published in 1999. Presented a video on the same subject a year later entitled 'Flyfishing for Big Pike in Ireland'. Still writes occasional features for angling magazines in the UK and further afield.
Member of the Fisheries Conservancy Board for Northern Ireland from 1996 to 2002, representing the interests of independent anglers throughout Northern Ireland. Holds the Ulster Angling Ghillies Certificate (distinction).
